What’s Cool: The digital geniuses at LifeChurch.tv, creators of the online Bible YouVersion, present their newest creation—ChurchMetrics. ChurchMetrics is a new online tool that allows churches to accurately measure their performance and success in specific areas and monitor patterns and trends that emerge from the data. The idea is that better information in the hands of church leaders leads to better decisions. ChurchMetrics even provides a mobile app, so you can access and edit your church’s information on the go. This web application is built by a church, for churches, so they truly understand what a church needs. Best of all, it’s free!

ChurchMetrics allows you to keep track of attendance, salvations, giving, and baptisms each week across multiple campuses and service times. The site creates projections based on current and past trends. Information such as your attendance history in the form of a graph or exportable report is just a click away.

What’s not: It's hard to complain about a free web application! One word of caution: The spiritual health of a church transcends numbers, so don’t let ChurchMetrics be the only indicator by which you determine how your church is doing.

The Bottom line: Churches that are looking for an easy way to keep track of important statistics should take advantage of this free application once it is available to all. As the G.I. Joes used to say, knowing is half the battle.
