Upfront Week In Review – 6/13/08

Posted by Daniel Darnell on June 13th, 2008 at 9:39 am

It is Friday the 13th, which is a rare and scary occasion, but you have no reason to fear because Week In Review is here!

  • Here’s a clip from Pixar’s upcoming film WALL-E. Are you as excited as we are? This one comes out June 27th.
  • If somehow you missed it this week, the new Apple iPhone is officially here. Say goodbye to all other smartphones.
  • Web search has a new name. Viewzi.com is a new visual search engine that could give Google a scare.
  • Televisions are going 3D and you don’t need any silly glasses. You’ll just need a lot of money.
  • Twitter me this, Twitter me that. Tim Stevens recommends a few rules he is going to try to follow and so should the rest of the world.
  • Artist Aaron Koblin is making a name for himself on the web, see why. (hint: because he’s amazing)
  • How will rising gas prices affect your church?
  • They say “everything’s bigger in Texas” and the Cowboys new video screen proves them right. You’ll have to wait a year to actually see the thing in person, though.
  • Researchers in London are making music with just their brains. Talk about lazy.
  • The world’s first video projector phone is a novel idea, but the screen looks oh so familiar.

Honorable Rejects:

  • The Vatican welcomes aliens with open arms, if they actually exist. Talk about jumping the gun.
  • Um, I will never use a cell phone again if this is actually real. It turns out it’s just an advertisement for a bluetooth headset.
  • Ever get angry enough to want to break something? Then this vending machine is for you.

Well, that’s it for your Week in Review. We hope you have a great weekend and remember, Friday the 13th is just a date, or is it…?
