From the Mag: Last-Minute Easter Media Downloads

The following appears in the March/April issue of COLLIDE. Enjoy it!
As you read this, your Easter service is probably right around the corner. While you may not have time to create a video of your own in the next week or so, there are a lot of great Easter resources available for download. In 10 minutes you can find the right video, download it, and drop it into your presentation software for Easter Sunday. With that in mind, we asked two church media experts to name five of their favorite Easter videos and share comments on their choices.

“A Doubter’s Confession” by Floodgate Productions
Did Jesus really rise from the dead? Christians say “Yes,” but sometimes doubt it internally. Experience the internal voice of one Christian doubter.
“Nothing But the Blood” by SermonVideos.com
One of the aspects of Christianity that many people have a difficult time stomaching is the necessity of Christ’s blood. Many older hymns, which speak of Christ’s blood washing over us, have been replaced with safer alternatives. However, we can’t ever forget the absolute necessity of Jesus’ blood in the salvation process. The clip is based on Hebrews 9:22, which says that without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness.
“What Would You Die For?” by Highway Video
What would you die for and what would you sacrifice your family for? Two tough questions that get some heartfelt responses in this thought-provoking, man-on-the-street video.
“God Has a Plan” by Mill Road
This video is a powerful portrayal of His plan for human redemption. It begins with Christ on the cross, moves to modern-day tragedy and circumstance, and then returns to a revealing look at the resurrection of Christ.
“The Easter Story” by Flashlight Films
A concise, well-produced visual portrayal of the greatest story ever told. The story of Easter is the story of supreme sacrifice, of the ultimate gift, and of the greatest display of love God has ever shown us.

“By His Wounds” by SermonVideos.com
Based on 1 Peter 2:24, this video draws you into reflecting on the work of Christ on the cross. The images and music are a perfect complement, and the message is penetrating. By His wounds, we are healed. This video is a must-have.
“Sunday’s Comin’ ” by Igniter Media
Although this video has been around a few years, in my opinion it is still one of the most powerful pieces for an Easter Sunday service. The video is visually creative, while a powerful sermon walks you through the events of Good Friday with the hopeful perspective that Christ would rise from the dead on Sunday.
“Our Hero Lives” by Highway Video
This inspirational piece shows past heroes of our world and what they have accomplished. Although these leaders were powerful and had great impact, none compare to our Savior, Jesus Christ. The music is captivating and the visuals are powerful.
“He (IS)” by Erwin Brothers Motion Pictures
Although not explicitly Easter, this video declares who God is, and you can’t get much more Easter than that. It communicates the character of God in a creative and powerful way.
“Friday or Sunday” by Floodgate Productions
What changes in light of Christ’s death and resurrection? This video reveals this answer and thus, how our view can and must change. It does a great job of connecting to the painful emotions we all feel, but also provides the hope of the gospel.
